Year
2020-2021
Location
Né (Genova)
Client
Cantaluppi Tavernerio SPA

Description

The focus of this project was a industrial building dating back to the late 1960s with structural and energy characteristics that were far from current standards, as well as a high level of wear and tear on the finishes.

In 2019, after being purchased by Cantaluppi Tavernerio SPA, the project for the renovation and refunctionalization of the building was born. Previously, the structure was used to perform repairs on automobile components. The new use instead involves the conservation and wholesale sale of food products. The project was therefore designed to optimize internal logistics, providing different entry and exit routes for each food category in order to avoid contamination.

Another central theme of the project was energy upgrading. The building required significant interventions to upgrade the systems and reduce energy consumption. Therefore, at the specific request of the client, a "green" building was designed that comes as close as possible to zero emissions. To achieve this, work was carried out simultaneously on two fronts: efficient systems integrated with renewable sources and thermal insulation.
